Our Services
As your home inspector, we will visually inspect your house or apartment, checking the systems and components looking for damage, evidence of deterioration or amateur maintenance work. This is all then written into our detailed report given to each of our clients. A sample of our extensive report can be found on the sample report page.
Without damaging finished surfaces, your inspector will probe structural components that show signs of deterioration. For example, components of the roof will include the roof covering, drainage systems, flashings and roof penetrations such as skylights and chimneys.
On building exteriors, we will check items such as:
- Wall coverings, flashing and trim
- Doors
- Attached decks, balconies, stoops, steps, porches and railings
- Eaves, soffits and fascias if they are accessible from ground level
- Vegetation, grading, surface drainage and retaining walls if they might adversely affect the building
- Walkways, patios and driveways.
Interior, we would check items such as:
- Plumbing systems (water supply and distribution systems, fixtures and faucets, drains, vents, water heating equipment, etc.)
- Electrical systems (service equipment and main disconnects, panels, conductors, over-current protection devices, a sampling of fixtures, switches and receptacles, etc.)
- Heating and air conditioning systems and fireplaces
- Walls, ceilings, floors, stairs, railings and a representative sampling of cabinets
- Insulation and ventilation.
